Nextbit is a mobile technology company based out of San Francisco, United States. With its first smartphone, the company said its users would not fall short of storage space. The company offered 100GB of cloud storage for free to its users and integrated this feature in the OS. The company’s first smartphone – Robin – is runs Google’s Android OS.
Nextbit Robin which is an entirely cloud-based smartphone has launched in India at a price of Rs 19,999 and will be a Flipkart exclusive one.
Powered by a hexacore Snapdragon 808 processor, with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage with 100GB available on cloud. The device features a 5.2-inch display with full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) resolution.
It has a 13MP camera with phase detection autofocus and dual tone LED flash and a five megapixel front camera.
It has a 2680 mAh battery and runs the latest Android 6.0.1 OS aka Android Marshmallow.
Its power key doubles up as a fingerprint sensor and the phone has dual speakers and USB 3.0 Type C connector. The 7-mm slim device weighs 150 grams and supports NFC and LTE.
How does Nextbit Robin save space:
The phone backs up to the cloud when it is connected to Wi-FI. And it will never put you in a situation where you have to delete something, to download a new app or click a photo. When it reaches a certain threshold of space left on the device, it will automatically move unused apps and photos to the cloud.
